The Hollister Vikings came out at full speed on Saturday, scoring quick and often. The Vikings put in a total team effort, all players played exceptionally well. The Vikings got on the board first with an end around reverse to their starting tailback Isaiha Molina, that was taken in for a long touchdown run. The Vikings soon made it 12-0 on a touchdown run by Armando Salcedo. The Vikings had an opportunity to score before the end of the half but ran out of time. The Vikings went into half with a 12-0 lead knowing they would get the ball first when the second half began. The Vikings wasted no time. Molina ran the opening second half kickoff back for a touchdown and an 18-0 lead. Molina was lead by tremendous blocking from the special teams unit.
It was quite obvious that the Viking offense was firing on all cylinders. Both the purple and gold teams moved the ball with ease. The final Viking touchdown was scored on a touchdown pass from Tyler Pacheco to Gabriel Herbst. The Vikings were led by the strong play of Matthew Villarreal, Juan Cortez, Julien Garcia, and Manuel Delgado.
The defense played an important role as well, keeping the Jets off of the score board. The Viking defense was led by Matthew Escamilla, Omar Espinoza, Jayden Pritchett, Donnie Guttirez, Ladanian Gaytan, Ricky Viramontes, Loren Snead and Mateo Pelaiz.
The special teams came up big as well, especially Asher Menzel, who made a touchdown saving tackle at the 10 yard line.
The Mitey Mite Vikings will be at home to face the San Jose Saints at 11:30 next Sunday.
